Substations, transmission lines are connected so that the energy can travel towards different locations. In this way, the electricity - which is high voltage - goes through transformers, making it low voltage, that is, ready for domestic use. After getting to the cities, the distribution grids are responsible for bringing electricity to homes, schools, hospitals, industries, etc.
